I have been making bobbin lace for most of my life. About twenty years ago, I started to paint lace bobbins for myself and then for other people.
Over the last few years, I started to sell more bobbins to lace groups across the UK at shows and by post. As demand increased, I decided that I would like to develop this into a business - at this point, I opened my Etsy shop. More recently, I have started to sell a larger range of books, unpainted lace bobbins and tools, and will be looking to develop my range over the next few months. I post lace bobbins, books and equipment world wide including to Australia, US, Canada, Japan, France, Germany, Scandinavia etc.
As well as being an active lace maker and designer, I served for three years on The Lace Guild Executive Committee and have taught workshops at The Lace Guild Convention over the last few years. I have been a member of Edinburgh Lace Club since moving to Scotland in 1998 and more recently joined the Westhope Group.
The website will give you an idea of my work but if you would like something a little different please contact me. I paint a wide range of designs including pets, fruit, flowers, seasonal, spirals, stylised designs, Celtic knots and teddies. My bobbins are painted with acrylic, watercolour or gouache paints and then sealed with several coats of varnish.
